There are thousands of different types of molds, and some molds have dozens of different species. For example, Aspergillus mold has 185 species.

On the following pages, we have provided a brief discussion of just a few types of molds. Keep in mind that molds, mycotoxins, bacteria and other contaminants in water-damaged buildings can cause serious health problems.
